Christmas might only feel like yesterday, but Easter has officially started (2-4th April), and we've got two extra days of work, sigh. We also hope that the Easter bunny will be delivering us some "egg-citing" treats this Sunday.

These days we are spoilt for choice with the variety of Easter eggs on offer, and there really is one to suit every taste. From vegan and gluten-free to alcohol-infused ones. We put together a list of our seven favourites.

Maltesers Chocolate Easter Egg - Best No-Frills

Nothing beats a simple classic like this Maltesers Easter egg, great for sharing and ideal for kids. It really is "The lighter way to enjoy chocolate" A steal at just £1.25. Available at all good supermarkets.

NOMO's Vegan & Free From Hazelnot Crunch Egg & Drops

Best for Vegan's and People with Allergies

NOMO (No Missing Out) are the UK's no.1 Vegan & Free From Chocolate Brand. They offer a range of Easter eggs suitable for those who follow specific diets, including not eating gluten, dairy, or nuts, so no one has to miss out. We chose this Hazelnot Crunch egg made with cocoa nibs and crispy pieces that give a nutty flavour. It's priced at a reasonable £5.99 and is available at all good supermarkets.

Cadbury Caramel Medium Egg

You can't buy much for £1 these days, but you can get your hands on a delicious Cadbury's milk chocolate (who doesn't like this) caramel egg. A great treat for the kids, big or small. Available at all good supermarkets.

Extra Thick Rocky Road to Caramel Easter by Hotel Chocolat

Best for Luxury

Fancy splashing out this Easter? Then look no further than this Hotel Chocolat extra thick egg filled with indulgent treats and rocky road flavours. One half is solid caramel-milk chocolate, and the other is milk chocolate with cookies and crunchy puffed rice. It's also filled with marshmallow, pralines and caramels; we promise it's delish and worth £29.99 price tag.

Gin & Tonic Milk Chocolate Egg - Best with Alcohol

There is always something for the alcohol lovers amongst us, even at Easter. Family favourite M&S have produced this gin flavoured milk chocolate egg that includes chocolate buttons filled with pink gin booze. Shake it up, crack it open and enjoy. At £5 it's cheap than a bottle of gin.

Cookies & Cream Easter Egg - Best for White Chocolate Lovers

Our favourite supermarket Aldi has a range of luxury Easter eggs on offer at very affordable prices. It was this cookie and cream one that caught our attention. Made with white chocolate and decorated with lots of extras, including dark chocolate stars, drizzles, a dark chocolate disc, chocolate biscuit balls and dark chocolate chunks. Very pleasing on the eye and all for just £2.79.

Cadbury Mini Eggs Chocolate Egg & Mug - Best for Retro

Hands up, who is old enough to remember Easter eggs that came with a mug? We loved them, so we'll definitely be buying this egg, which also comes with the added bonus of a bag of mini eggs to share (or keep to yourself). It's all yours for just £3.
